Hi,

hoping to spend October and November in Asia (Thailand,Cambodia,Vietnam etc etc). Was hoping to get a rough estimate of how much I would need for these two months generally. Also is there good transport links amongst the countries.

Thanks......

Millions have taken the routes that link the Landlocked part of Southeast Asia.

Its convenient, pay through your hostel or agency. Never had any bad experience. Until my Bangkok-Phuket trip.
But its cheap so I am not so eager to hit public bus stations for my ride. Well except to get out of Phuket, my hotel is selling a ticket to Malaysia and its hell expensive.

Well prices are always changing. You just need to just shop around on foot. I payed 50% less than 7 other passengers on one bus ride.

Southeast Asia - realistically 20 - 25 US dollars a day if you are a conventional budget traveller, though i normally budet for 30 to be on the safe side. This covers basic lodging (single room, sometimes with shower thrown in (and TV in Cambodia)), the occassional restaurant meals, a few beers, local transport, and admission prices to most sights. On this budget sometimes i find myself spending way below it (in a small village) or sometimes above (visiting Angkor), but in the end it balances out quite nicely. I also throw in a buffer fund of around 200 USD, plus my bank cards, just in case.

As for transport links, the countries you mentioned are all well linked by road and sometimes river routes. Many people use these crossings so it should be a breeze crossing borders in Southeast Asia.
