Hello Travel Point community,
Im an 18 year old American from rural Wisconsin. I have yet to do any extensive travelling yet but as this last year of highschool ends im planning on going abroad for as long as feels right. Im here to gather some second hand knowledge about the dues and donts of travelling. I'm not sure where i am planning on going first though there is some tenative plans for taking the cliche back pack through europe trip, if possible working part of the way through. I would appreciate any advice on travelling for i have nothing but a very romantic literary knowledge of what is to travel abroad. Anyone have any must see's in europe? Any ideas on employement?

comment on your leasure,
Yon

Hi Yon and welcome to TP.

My main tip on employment is . . . make sure you knwo what the Visa requirements are in advance, most countries do not allow tourists to take up employment.

Where in Europe would you like to go?

Hi Yon, welcome to the site. You're sure to find many helpful people on here.

The list of must-sees in Europe is practically endless, so you really will have to decide which kinds of things you want to experience; architecture, art, cities, food, music, parties, beaches, mountains, nature.. any preference? It would be worth starting a thread in the Europe forum and definitely worth having a look through the Europe Travel Guide to get you started.
