Bali - staying for 1 month

Hiya,

I am planning to live in Bali for 1 month and I am unsure if Ubud, Lavina or even somewhere on Lombok would be the best location. I am looking for fun and to meet nice people, I want to get to learn a bit about the culture and I need my own place with a kitchen, as I am planning to learn how to cook beautiful Indonesian/Balinese dishes. I wouldn't mind to share a house with locals/expats, or to live in a hostel, as long as I can cook.

Ubud is a fantastic base and is a great place to sample Balinese cuisine, mix with locals and expats alike, and experience some culture. I spent two weeks there and was very sorry when my time was up.
