Travel Forums Round the World Travel Fly Zoom - Budget airline goes bust

Sad say that zoom, the low cost airline from Assorted British airports and Paris to Canada, parts of the USA and Bermuda have gone bust and all flights are cancelled, effective immediately.

Story here: Zoom is kaput

Hope no TPers have been caught up or lost money with cancelled flights

A sad state of affairs for budget airlines with the fuel prices at the moment. Let's hope no more go the same way.

Gelli great to see your still on here! Well I know this fiasco youve mentioned shouldnt affect you anyhow! But yeah hope those in trouble will be able to get sorted and dont stop your travel plans over it - find another way - a nicer way like Gelli has taught me - overland it! Absolutely love it!

That's depressing, I would hate to be in the position of those travellers...as a student, I would hate to be stranded in America or Canada...there is no way I would be able to afford a flight back!

Why can't the passengers get refunds? Surely most of them had travel insurance?

I hope RyanAir doesn't go at all. They have already put up the price of their flights due to fuel.

Does anyone else find it annoying that there are rich people going all over the place but don't really appreciate it quite as much as many people who don't have quite as much money?

There is another thread about that over here in the North America forum. Both 3 days old, can't see which was first

I remember reading somewhere that passengers have to claim refunds from their own credit card companies for non-delivery of purchase.

Always my friend. I am the scoop master. I posted about the AF-KLM proposal to run trains between London and Paris 2 days before the mainstream UK press picked it up!

Yay me!

Along the same vein, XL went under today.
