I will be flying into Ciampino Airport (the only airport available leaving from East Midlands, UK) and need to travel to Perugia to see my daughter who is studying there. I will be arriving at 10:30am. What is the best way for me to get from this airport to Perugia? Thank you all for any information. Regards, Terry

Hi Terry,

to go from Ciampino to Perugia you can follow the instructions below. Enjoy your trip and Perugia itself.

Regards,
Elisa

- Get out from the arrival hall and take the Terravision shuttle bus to Roma Termini. It will drop you very closed to the main railway station in Rome.
- Go to the ticket desk or use a ticket machine (English is available) and buy a train ticket to Perugia. When doing so just check is any change of train is foreseen somewhere in the middle of your trip! It is quite common in Italy.
- You can also buy the ticket and check the schedule online, but the service is not available for all the services. The webpage is www.trenitalia.com (also available in English).

Terry,
edipo27 has it exactly right - that's the easiest way to get to Perugia from Ciampino Airport. If you have time, and you've never been there before, you might want to stay in Rome for a day or two; it's one of the most interesting cities in the world!

I can add the following advice: If not strictly necessary, absolutely avoid to use TAXI to go from Ciampino to Roma. In Italy and in Roma zone in particular, taxi situation is anormal and almost out of control for tourists.
