Hi Hellosweet,

Dont be put off travelling to South America - it's totally doable on your own and you'll have an amazing time. Brazil is a wonderul country and somewhere I wished I had had more time.

I travelled solo for 7 months there and I taught Business English in Santiago, Chile for a couple of months. If you have any specific questions just let me know. ;)

This is a great site if you are looking for TEFL work in Chile.

I bascially applied to a whole bunch of schools and I got call backs from a LOT of them. You would have no problem getting teaching work in Chile, and you dont necessarily need a TEFL qualification. They really just want native speakers.

I would recommend the Fischer Institute in Providencia as a good place to start.

Only thing is the pay isn't amazing - you're looking at about $9-12 a hour depending on where you are.

Hope that helps!
