Hi Guys and Girls

Just after a little bit of advice.....

Im flying into Bangkok on the 26th Jan and then 7 weeks later from Singapore to Sydney. :)

Where do i cross the border into Malaysia on the way upto to Singapore?
Is there anything to stop me from going back into Thailand a few days or week after i cross?
Whats the best route through on the way upto Singapore?

Im travelling on my own, and i just want to be the best prepared i can without taking the fun of not knowing where im gonna end up out of my trip!

Thanks in advance

You can refer to the Malaysia travel guides for the different modes and routes to get in from Thailand.

Where are you from? Your nationality determines how long you can stay in Thailand. Visitors from countries which are visa-exempted can stay a maximum of 30 days per entry, and not more than 90 days within 6 months. See the FAQ - Thailand - Visa thread for more info.

I'll advise you on the Malaysia part. The time you're coming is during the northeast monsoon, so you don't want to go to the east coast of the peninsula as the tourist activities on islands there will be closed. You'll be taking the west coast route instead. From the north: Langkawi - Penang - Cameron Highlands - Taman Negara - Kuala Lumpur - Malacca - Singapore

You may want to miss one or two destinations, depending on how long you want to spend in Malaysia.

Don t know what nationalitty You are. Can be you need to make re-entry visa for Thailand. If so, in Sathorn area (imigration office) in Bangkok You can finish everything for around 1000 bath (20 eur),pasport copy and 2 pictures i think.
From Bangkok you can take train or bus to go Malaysia. There is already here in forum's questions some tips about that, so chek around when you have time.
Very best and good luck

Hi,

Do you decide from Bangkok to Malaysia for your traveling? If yes, when? I will travel there during 23 Jan ~ 29 Jan.

Thanks everyone for your quick response.

Im actually from the Uk so im flying out of Heathrow.

The idea is that i fly into Bangkok, and then spend 30 days travelling Thailand and make my way across the border to Malaysia and then make my way up through there to fly out of Singapore.

Nicky,
If you plan on using the TP forum as a resource, it might be a good idea to fill out a bit more on your profile. Take a look at yours, then mine. Your age, country, gender do help other TP members with their
advice. Just a sugestion.

After your month in Thailand, I would finish in Hat Yai. There are vans, buses, trains that head for Penang daily. I will let the Malaysia experts guide you from Penang to Singapore.
