Hello everyone! I'm pretty new here but I'd like to ask for some suggestions on some good hotels to try at Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka? Has anybody been to the place and can recommend a nice, affordable hotel that they've stayed in? I hear the Galway Forest Lodge is pretty good, but I'm open to other suggestions, especially if you've personally experienced staying in these hotels. Thanks! :)

I have not stayed at the Galway Forest Lodge but stayed at one of their other hotels - Galway Miridiya Lodge in Anuradhapura and the place looked very much weathered and was poorly maintained. I especially did not like the hotel restaurant. However, the garden by the tank was well maintained. Based on the maintenance of one hotel, I would suggest that if you are looking for a cheap accommodation to stay and won't be staying in your room or hotel premises too much, then go ahead with Galway forest lodge. Keep in mind that this is a hotel located in the Galway Forest reserve so is very much further away from the center of Nuwara Eliya resulting in mobility issues should you wish to explore the region.

The Tea factory and Grand hotel are supposedly the best hotels there, if you don't mind the high prices. On the budget side, I suggest that you look at The Glendower (Colonial cottage) or the Hotel Sunhill (which I had recommended to visiting friends, after some net search, and they had really liked it).

And, if you would like to rent out an entire bungalow, there is Lindula Bungalow (a place a friend rents out for their annual family holidays so probably is good)
