Travel Forums System Talk About page on a blog

Hey kiddos,

I was just bouncing around on the web reading blogs (actually following links from the latest Travelblogs.com article on dealing with lonliness), and I noticed that some of them have about pages or an about this blog link.

I know there is the "about the author" link in the TP blog that links to the travellerspoint profile, but I think it would be cool to have an about page for a blog, so we could write something a little more focused on what we hope to accomplish with the blog.

Thoughts?

G.

On a similar note, I was wondering if we could have features that we could add to the blog such as lists (maybe for recommended reading?)

I have a Hotmail spaces blog that I've kept up all the way through my travels, and I'd actually prefer to use the TP one, but I just like the way the Spaces one is set up.

Do you think we could have a function to create lists?

You can actually have a list of "Favourite Links" on the blogs already right now - see for example the TP blog. You can create these under manage - links. However, to discourage spammers, this will only start working after you have created 10 blog entries. (I just wish that was per-author, rather than per-blog.)

An about page seems like a good idea to me. Not sure how easy it would be to implement though, but probably something to add to the to-do list.

Am with Greg and Eric on the About page.

I only click on a profile when in the forums, and the blog pages it seems to get a little lost in the shuffle Well at least two clicks lost anyways.

Having said that, some of the WP blogs send up with too many pages. Maybe just highlight TP's About more?
