XL Leisure, the third largest tour operator in the UK has gone into administration, cancelling all flights and leaving 85,000 passengers stranded.

According to the Times Online, "Customers who booked through a travel agent will be able to claim a refund. However, travellers who made bookings through the company’s website, xl.com, via xl call centres, will not qualify."

Not another one...

...

So again, in this case people like us who like to travel independantly without the constraints of a package deal are penalised. Again, it's eco-tourists, who generate revenue for poorer countries (package holidays etc. = western companies getting all the cash and the country of destination getting very little out of it) getting screwed over. What's more, people who book via the website and what have you are more likely to have less money, hence why they are booking independtly to get a cheaper deal, so will find it tougher to get back home.

This is ridiculous.

Guess who is a bit grumpy this morning...

HAMMERS!

Sorry, West Ham is my nearest club, though I haven't decided yet if I will be a supporter. I do like the fact that their fans went over to Columbus, Ohio and kicked some butt.

Show those North American pansies what football is all about!

HAMMERS!
