Woo! I've been job searching for ages now and I've just got the perfect one. Bearing in mind that I am 18 and have A-levels but nothing else and no experience worth speaking about...

I got paid £10 per hour and the job is just 25 hours per week! That is £250 per week! What's more, the job starts at 6:00am, this may be perceived as being a bad thing as an 18 year old male...but no, it's good, because I have the rest of the day free to do what I like...study at the moment because I am redoing an A-level.

It is working on Gatwick Express as an On Train Welcome Host, which is basically making people happy and taking money off them, then telling the manager how much money I have taken. Oh...and handing out complimentary newspapers to first class passengers....so it's not exactly the most strenuous of jobs!

And the perks. Bearing in mind how ridiculously expensive train fairs are...I get it free, everywhere in the country. I also get 75% off EuroStar and I get 12 complimentary Gatwick Express tickets for friends to use.

So I'm also going to get another part time job at the airport, the one I'm after is 10 hours a week paying £7 per hour. The Gatwick Express money goes into savings (for university) and the other job goes into leisure money (including my Africa and Europe trips in the summer).

I'm feeling pretty pleased with that.

Good for you!

I must admit that as someone looking for a job in UK right now, there seems to be a lot of jobs on the railways. Granted, I am looking for something a little more than £10 an hour, but even at the upper levels there seem to be a lot of companies looking for upper level positions as well.

Next time we have a meet up in London (i.e. whenever Gelli or Jase007 shows up in London again), you have to come now, seeing as it won't cost you anything (other than the beer).

Now I know who to look for if I'm going to Gatwick or taking the Eurostar.
