I'm seriously considering travelling to Brazil. I'm an american and plan on going by myself. I guess all I have to ask is what to generally expect. Are there certain dangerous things I should be wary of? Is there enough to do by oneself?

I don't mean to imply Brazil is boring or dangerous, but I've never been outside the country and I just want to prepare myself. Thanks all!

Brazil is awesome! some much to do, so much to see - guess what it is not more dangerous than new york, L.A., london or any other main city in the world - just don't flash your jewelry and expensive watches, cameras an wallet and you will be fine, my canadian boyfriend was freeking out when we went to visit, nobody even gave him a second look and he has tourist written across his forehead...
