Hi Foggy,

It would definitely be challenging anyway!

Are we talking $$, €€, or ££? Are you including or excluding a flight/transportation in the initial sum?

I'd say anything is possible - I mean, if you're prepared to work pretty much straight away and you're not fussy about what you do then you could manage. Also, with a small amount of money it's key to set yourself a daily budget and then stick to that - something that seems to be beyond my capabilities, I might add! :)

Good luck - you should give it a try!

I'd say it's possible, but you definitely would want to be skimping on accommodation, transportation and alcohol. Head for the cheaper countries (ie, not Western Europe) to make the pounds last longer.

Cycling your way around can get you quite far on limited funds and then you can take a tent and sleeping bag along to keep it even cheaper. Really, your money would stretch a long way on a bike. Travellerspoint members Amy and Wim recently cycled from Belgium to China (subtracting a few flights along the way). You might like their story.

Peter - thanks for "Travellerspoint members Amy and Wim recently cycled from Belgium to China (subtracting a few flights along the way). You might like their story."

Everyone might also like to read Dervla Murphy's works - she's an old time Irishwoman who used to cycle the world on trips like that - she's a total blast to read too!
