Heading to Brazil in Oct 2008 for the first time

Hi- My friend and I are looking to go to either Sao Paulo or Rio De Janiero for a couple weeks in Oct. Looking for places to visit for sites, hostels to stay in, cheap hotels to stay in, Nightlife etc. If you get a chance, please drop me a line.
