Hi, im just about to go to Canada for the year but getting cold feet now, i was fine until a week ago (i go on the 6th of next month) its all just hit me how big a thing it is. I know i can always come back but really want to stick it out for the experience and character building. Can anyone tell me if they have been away for a new job or years working visa ETC, is this a normal feeling and does it get better once in your destination and the ball is rolling.
Cheers in advance guys.
I think it's quite normal, but I believe you're just not keeping yourself busy enough - too much time on your hands to worry! Instead of worrying, why not google the places you're going to and investigate attractions, restaurants, etc. Are you planning on visiting the northern States as well? What part of CA are you going to (don't miss British Columbia - one of the most beautiful). If you do come to the US, be sure to come to Oregon (one of the friendliest, neatest/nicest and most natural places in the West!)
Yeah your right, cheers. I'm going to Toronto first then anyones guess is as good as mine. I'll def make some sort of plan now and keep my mind off it until i go.
Your probably worried because you don't really have a purpose for going over there other than to have a party and escape your everyday life where ever you are. I am not dissing you as i kinda did the same when i went to Australia for a few months, but i would be surprised if at one point of the whole thing you didn't ask yourself, 'what the heck am i doing here?', i think most people do...
So yeah if you don't have a good purpose for doing something then it can feel strange and easy to worry you are going to make a fool of yourself or have a wasted trip, but then again i hope you have a great journey...!
