You want Air India Express - Far East/Middle East to India: http://tinyurl.com/4hojw9 whichbudget.com shows a few airlines like Tiger (Singapore) flying mostly to S. Indian cities like Chennai and Bangalore [ Edit: Edited on Sep 26, 2008, at 11:55 AM by Daawgon ] |

Hi, there are three option if you want to travel to Delhi from singapore directly. Air India,Jet Airways and singapore airlines. The cheapest of them is Jet but air india is close by... the other option is that u take tiger airlines to chennia and then from there u take train or domestic flight however that is little tiring i Beilive Let me know if you have query as preety familar with singapore and Offourse north india. |

The cheapest option, i think, is to take the Tiger Airways flight to Chennai and then book a domestic flight to Delhi or somewhere else in India. It adds up to less than 250 USD, 160 for the flight from Singapore to Chennai and about 90 dollars to Delhi. I did this route a few months ago, minimal fuss, maximum savings. In Chennai you can book flights easily from the many travel agents along Kennet Lane, i think Madura was the one i used. The only downside to this is that it takes a bit more time, and if you're in a hurry, there are plenty of carriers that fly direct for around 400 USD to Delhi and around... |

Thanks! Also, do you people think 8-31 October is too late for Manali and Himachal Pradesh? I already booked an Ashram in South India as it is a famous Ashram and some people think Northern India is a lot harder and too cold now... and flying to Southern India a lot cheaper... but I have a cravings for mountains and cooler climates... Sure I can find a similar Ashram in Northern India and go trekking too.... I can still cancel the reservation with other Ashram... What do u think? |

October is not too late..Infact in some way is better as it is not tourist season in those area (June and august are which is too crowded for my liking) and wheather will be perfect it wont be complete winters thats december and Jan in north India. You can get many ashram in haridwar and banaras....thats home of ashrams PS- I got my ticket from sing for abot 890 $ sing dolllar they are costly at the moment as Diwali and Chrismas Season.Normally you can get for 750 $ sing dollar Cheers DJ |

i agree with foxysardar - Oct may be the best time as it avoids the summer peak season for hill resorts and is not too near winter. I heard Himachal Pradesh is awesome - its one of my big regrets in India, not taking the bus up north from Amritsar |

Great... North will be then! I am currently booked in Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram, which is a World famous Ashram in Kerala.... Will cancel that but any cool Ashram anywhere in the North to learn Yoga and meditation practice you can recommend? I need a stricht regime of early mornings and hard selfless chores... Thanks! |
