The other one I hate is people going on about prices, and boasting about what deal they did and how little they paid staying somewhere or other. Then they ask you what you paid as though it's some kind of competition.

To which the usual answer should be; "Oh, I just stayed at the Shangri-la"

Hee, hee! "Oh, and I didn't pay a penny because I know the manager."

"Yeah, I didn't really want to stay there but it's just one of the many sacrifices you make to pay the bills."

"They probably won't have me back when they read what I had to say. I much preferred the Hilton. At least there, they also provided me with a complimentary massage."

"Yea, and at the Hilton, Paris paid for all my room service from our room too. . . "

Ok, I think that one might have cleared the hostel lounge area

Another very irritating variety of this egotistical monologue is this "Oh its the best place in the whole fucking world, its so laid back and there are not many tourist...." then you take their advice you realize its just another poverty stricken village with nothing unique or special...

"Its not touristry" what the hell is that word? This statement is coming from a tourist not an archeologist or a cultural anthropologist.... We all use this... but its getting old. I heard too many wannabes use this word.

I GUESS ITS NOT WHAT WE, its how we say it... some people are just annoying.
