I applied for my WHV visa before I left the UK (online) however I lost the application number & so had to start it again.
The only difference with the new application was the question about living away for more than 3 months .... I accurately told them about my travelling for the last 4 months (I thought this would qualify as part of the question). Was I wrong? Is it only if you've actually lived somewhere (and not travelled?) or was I correct in giving them this info.
They didn't ask me for chest x-rays last time (however I didn't process the payment so maybe it would have informed me anyway).
Could someone just explain why I need a chest x-ray to visit Australia????
Also, I presume this will be covered by my insurance?
I think you were correct in giving them the information; have you visited any countries in your travels which are considered as having a high risk of TB? That's the only thing I can think of which would cause them to ask you for an xray.
I don't think it will be covered on your insurance if it's for a visa application.
I think I'm gonna ring the insurance company to clarify things.
Here's the list of declared countries
Germany, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia
All pretty standard backpacker places & I've never heard of anyone needing an x-ray!
It does seem strange that they have suddenly asked for it! Unless they do spot checks and just pick out random applications. I know you need one for the NZ WHV now but hadn't heard of it for the Oz visas.
