I would like to go to a romantic, clean, high end hotel or resort on Ko Chang, Somewhere where my wife and I can relax in clean comfort, and while wawya the days under a palm tree next to a beach and enjoy good food. We do not want to go somewhere that attracts hordes of families or the disco thumping resorts that can so often be found. Does anyone have any recommendations. I was looking at the Remark Hotel as a possibility. Ideally, we would like an air conditioned beach accomodation.

Koh Chang Tropicana, hands down. They have private bungalows, a good restaurant, right on the beach. Nice pool, really good service. I can't recommend a better place. They made my honeymoon just fantastic.

Hello,

I lived before in Thailand for almost 4 years (1991-1994) and visited the country for short trips several times. I visited Koh Chang in March 2007 and stayed in Kho Chang Thai Garden Hill Resort. It is newly air-conditioned accommodation with beautiful houses, including a private pool overlooking the mountain. It is located along the main road, near to basic services (banks, market, restaurants) and the beach is walking distance as well. I stayed two nights with free breakfast.
Even though it is near the main road, still it is quiet and the place is not congested with tuktuk or cars, so expect a comfortable stay.

This is the details:

Koh Chang Thai Garden Hill Resort
6/33 Moo 4, Klong Prao Beach
Kho Chang Trat 23170

I have also posted my diary and photos in my other travel site, Koh Chang.

Enjoy!
