This thread is marked as being about England

Hallo out there, im azamiban backpacker intending to come to birmingham ,England in march 2005. I would like to stay there for a minimum of six months. I have read that there is employment potential in birmingham, but5 my problem is i do not know how much money ll be enough to sustain me from the time i arrive to the time i may hook a job. I currently plan on carrying about 1500 pounds. will it be enough to sustain for the period i ll not be in backpacker employment?

Any advice is welcome and will be grately appreciated.

Hi there,
1500 pounds should easily last you a month and probably more if you find somewhere cheap to live and don't have to travel around too much.
Birmingham is a huge city, so finding work should be as easy as anywhere, but officially you need an address first.

I would agree - £1500 should easily last a month and there are hundreds of recruitment agencies for job hunting.

My question though is, why Birmingham? You like the big city vibe I take it!

yer that should be heaps, if you want to make it stretch abit further you could always find a place to doss (sleep on sofa etc) I did this in 2001 when I first got to london, arrived there on the intention of just having alook I arrived home (New Zealand) last nov, planning to head back this nov, and visiting a friend in Birmingham so if you get stuck just email me, and will sort you out
