Title pretty much says it all. Sometime this spring I am backpacking Europe, and I want to plan my trip around going to some good music festivals, and taking in as many sights as possible along the way... Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Depends on your budget. if you have a lot of money then i would recommend Glastonbury in the UK in June, but if u r on a budget i would look at the mainland European festivals as they are much cheaper. This is of course if you are after rock/indie/dance festivals.

I have to say that Glasto is absolutely fantastic! I went for 3 years in a row when I was living over in Europe and loved every time. Another great one is Rosskilda festival in Denmark... definately worth a visit.

There's some great festivals in Germany (Fusion, Melt, etc.), but most of them take place in summer between late June and the end of August. Pinkpop in Holland is supposed to be good aswell and it's on in late May next year.

So from the looks of it summer would be my best shot at this... kinda sucks that I have the time off in the spring. Has anyone done the whole spring backpacking thing? Is it worth it? I would really like to see some festivals, I love getting the cultural element out of them... Glasto would definitely be awesome.

Haha, you got the idea from that new Fuse show Excellent Adventure, didn't you? I saw a commercial for it the other day, looks like an awesome idea for a show. I'll probably check out the premiere tonight. Seems like you may be SOL though for a springtime festival, most of them start in early to late summer.
