Transportation, Tijuana-Bahia de los Angeles

Hi!

I'm heading to Baja California from San Diego with some friends for Thanksgiving, and we are trying to find the fastest/cheapest/most secure way of getting around.
We will be starting out in Tijuana and go from there to Bahia de los Angeles, and we are wondering, if it will be better value to rent a car or to go by bus.

Are there any buses that go directly from Tijuana to Bahia de los Angeles? And how much would it cost us?
In general, does anyone have expiriences with renting cars in Mexico?

Bahia de Los Angeles is wonderful as is all of the Sea of Cortez . I just got back from Baja last week and loved every minute of it. Probably the cheapest way to get down there is by bus. Once you add in the cost of car rental, insurance and gas, not to mention stress of driving in mexico it's probably better to go by bus. The three ways that I know of by bus are by mexican bus, Green tortoise or Baja Trek. You can pick up the mexican bus in Tijuana and ride down to the junction where the turn off and then try to find a ride in from there. I think you do the same with green tortoise, but they leave from california. I'm not sure, but I do think that Baja Trek goes straight down to Bahia de los angeles and other parts of the sea of cortez. I do know that Baja Trek leaves from California as well. I'm not sure of the cost of each but you could probably go to their websites. The good thing is that anywhere on the sea of cortez is great. Have a happy thanksgiving
