Hi Kookytax, i didn't get the e-visa but got mine through the embassy here in new zealand which was very efficient, so I can't reassure you about e-visa, may be try writing to the embassy in London and see what they say? You got pleanty of time if you are travelling in Jan.

When I arrived in Hanoi airport I seem to recall seeing a desk just prior to the clearing the custom area with a sign for visa application so may be it was for those with e-visa, or may be apply on arrival? I already got mine visa then so I didn't check it out.

Good luck. Hanoi was chaotic but interesting cultural experience and Halong Bay was just beautiful.

Kookyjax,
I used the 'visa on arrival' system before leaving the US. It was cheaper to pay the VN travel company plus the $25 stamp fee once in HCMC than buy a VN here in the US. I have a blog entry that covers
the whole experience. Look for "Off to SaiGon".

Read that first and then send me a PM if you still have questions.

After reading several websites, it looks like a Cambodian citizen can stay in VN for 30 days w/o a visa.

there are a lot of websites that provide visa on arrival online. you may google it. last year my husband went to vietnam and applied for a vietnam visa online at website "[snip]" it worked well, no problem at all. and more, it is much cheaper. try it yourself, very easy and quick.
