Traveling to Italy, staying in Padova, what do I need to see

Going to Italy in less than a month and will be staying in Padova. What do I need to see around there and whats the best way to get around in that area? I'm traveling with people who are going for work, so I'm on my own for day trips which opens my flexibility. I am a photographer so if you know of any unreal photo opportunities please speak up, would love to know!
