Hi

I would be very interested in knowing what would be the best five destinations in Europe that are worth visiting.

Would want to travel via train to each destination?

Your thoughts and info would be appreciated.

Regards

Tiger

London - Paris - Amsterdam - Munich - Rome - Barcelona

All of the above definitely worth seeing. They aren't in any particular order, but the logistics of travelling between them may be a little crazy with some fairly long train rides. How long are you spending in Europe? Where are you flying into? I've only visited these places each separately, not one after the other like you will be doing. I've never been to Prague of Dubrovnik or anywhere really in Eastern Europe but I envy people who have been, as I've only heard good things.

Good Luck!

Just think that the most well known places are not always the most beautiful ones.
For example I personnaly live in a small village of the Spanish Pyrenees called Ainsa. All the surroundings are just marvellous, provided you like hiking and being in quiet places...

there must be many other places like that in Europe, not to doubt about it.
may you be interested in visiting us here are some interesting web pages to help you learn more about Ainsa and the Sobrarbe:

In my opinion, some eastern european cities e.g. Prague, Budapest are worth visiting also...

You may want to consider.. ;)

hi

it's hard to choose 5 destinations, europe's quite big!
but i'd say

barcelona
venice
london
copenhagen (haven't been there but everyone says it's heaven)
and i'd have to add paris, but i'm not too fond of it..

good luck ;)

Hi Tiger, well I would say Gryon is worth a look too, a heavenly nook nestled in the Swiss Alps and inexpensive to boot.
Gryon.com covers it.
I would do a major city, and you have certainly been recommended some good ones out there, and then do a few days down time in a quiet location, plenty of those mentioned in Backpackingeurope.com too.
Happy travels !

London, Rome and Barcelona... all of them have something genuine and interesting to offer. But that can also be said about Copenhagen, Lisbon, Stockholm, Berlin, Prague, Paris... At the end of the day cities are cities though and with that I mean that a lot of the time you get the same thing when you travel to cities.
By all means see two or three cities but I think you will get out a lot more if you go to smaller places, or the countryside aswell. There it will be much easier to talk with the locals, and appreciate something more unique and genuine.
I've always appreciated coming out of the cities wherever I've been travelling, seems I have my strongest memories from there.

Now I have really not been to many places at all, but I was totally blown away by Dubrovnik.

Add in Oslo and Norway to that! a clean and naturally beautiful country.

Stavanger, Bergen and Flam def worth a visit.
