Hi, I have 2 queries about Australia! 1. I have a UK driving licence, do I need to get an International one to drive in Oz? I have heard something about it.

2. Whats the medical care like? If we need the doctor/dentist is it free or do you have to pay?

thanks guys!

Your UK license is perfectly fine, and all you need.

The rules differ slightly per state, but they're all pretty consistent on this. See for example Victoria's rules:

If you are in Victoria on a temporary visa, you can drive on your overseas licence (provided it is a current, valid licence) for an indefinite period provided your overseas licence is in English (or you have an English translation)

(Even a working holiday visa counts as a temporary visa.)

See this page on the medicare website. I believe the whole "medically necessary" criterion is rather strict, so you'd still want travel insurance next to it.
