I'm thinking about driving from Sydney to Renmark (fruit picking region, north of the Barossa Valley on the Murray River), South Australia at Christmas time. I'm going to hire a small car thats cheap on fuel, I think the car hire will be about $40 a day. I'm not sure how much fuel will be, it will probably more expensive around that time of year so its hard to work out. The trip is about 1200km long, and takes around 13 driving hours. If anyone is going that way and doesn't mind sharing the driving on long trips, let me know, I'd love to split the costs with someone. Only thing though, I'll have to leave either the afternoon on Christmas eve and stay overnight somewhere on the way, or leave early Christmas morning or maybe Boxing Day at the latest. I know its not a great time, but I have no choice really, so let me know if you're interested anyway!
