Don't think I ever saw Rainbow . . .

But does anyone else remember Rainbow Bright?

Also not a cartoon but worth mentioning: Fraggel Rock!!

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned The Simpsons!! (unless I missed it) Greatest cartoon of all time - it started in the 90's and is still going stronger than ever. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best series of all time!

Other than that, Cow and Chicken and Brain were always good for a laugh.

Defenders Of The Earth! (I think that's the one Nykki was on about with Ice Man and Firestar.)
I was in love with the Magician... can't remember his name but his bit of the song went;
"Master of Magic, spells and Illusion, enemies crumble in fear and confusion...DEFENDERS OF THE EARTH..Defenders!"
love it!

Did anyone watch the smoggies?
Little people on an island with colourful afros and the evil polluting people that lived on a ship docked nearby? No?

Well, it was a key show.

And i was big on many of the already mentioned ones. I think that was the kid-cartoon golden age. And of course, anything disney is excellent always.

Hey Barby, you just reminded me of a cartoon we used to watch... too funny! It was called "Captain Planet" and it was all about the environment and how to keep it clean and save it from the bad polluting people... love it! The song went like "Captain Planet, he's a hero, gonna bring pollution down to zero"... good times! It wasn't my absolute favorite but seriously, looking back, you gotta love it! Did anyone from Canada watch it or am I the only one? Anyone?

We had Captain Planet in the UK, I've got the theme tune stuck in my head now!

This thread has brought back so many memories!

...and the smoggies come to think of it!

Sorry, Tam, I don't remember "Captain Planet". I did watch Golderak (sp??) plus all those Saturday-morning shows, like the Pink Panther and Bugs Bunny, though.

Does anyone remember those kids shows - not the cartoons, but the real-kids-in-different-situations things? There was 3-2-1 Contact; The Electric Company; The Edison Twins (that one may have been Canadian...). Oh, and the all-time-Canadian favourite: You Can't Do That On Television. "Bwaaa, I heard that..."

I used to love those.

OMG Tina, I was thinking of the Edison Twins the other day! Out of nowhere... and my sis and I loved 3-2-1 Contact so much, my mom subscribed us to the magazine! Little scientific children indeed (this guy looks like he's wearing oversized glasses)... good times!

I remember captain planet. It was great.

But I was mostly into Teenage mutant ninja turtles, ghostbusters, transformers and GI joe. I also loved Duck tales and chip and dales rescue rangers

Is it just me or are the cartoons nowadays just not as good? They just dont seem to have what it takes to make them classics. But thats just my opinion.
