I will be arriving into Bangkok on nov 7th and planning to travel around mostly south Thailand. I was travelling with a friend but she had to pull out so very nervous now about travelling alone. Has anyone got any top tips about Thailand, where to go, what to watch out for and so on? Will anyone else be in Bangkok the same time?
hey, for one. Try not to be nervous! bangkok and thailand in general is very traveller friendly and probably more safe for women alone then where your from lol. You'll likely meet up with other travellers anyway!
We will be in Thailand but not until early December if that helps and you are still there?
From my previous trips there I would recommend that you go to Ko Pha Ngang which is very chilled and has a great atmosphere but avoid Ko Samui as it is very touristy and commercialised!!! Ko Tau is good for diving!!!
Thanks for your support and advice, over the weekend I have clamed down and am looking forward again. I have decided to book an organised tour from Bangkok up to chiang mai as this is not a trip I want to do alone. I hope to meet other on that trip who will be heading south to the islands after. I know I sound like a big softy but I have never travelled on my own. Thanks for the tip about Ko tau as I would like to do a diving course if I have any money left at the end!!! Is it also good for snorkelling?
