I am steadily getting addicted to these forums!
Whats the best thing to do about contact lenses when travelling (South East Asia particularly)?
I wear daily disposables, the sort you get through the post. They're not as cheap, but I always found the monthly sort too much hassle (I'd only keep losing them).
Someone told me you could get them sent to you at larger towns and cities, or could you use your prescription and buy them there?
What do other people do, and how easy is it?
I'll be taking my specs too, obviously but I'd prefer to have the lenses when possible.
I have kinda the same question so will keep track on this thread - anyone help???
I'm sure its not just me and Nykky that wear contacts!?
Are there any other travellers that can answer this?
not too sure about the rest of SE Asia, but you'll be able to purchase one-day lenses (usually in boxes of 30) over the counter at most opticians in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. however, they may not be available in the small towns in Malaysia and Thailand - you may have to place an order with the optician and wait some time for the stock to arrive. in the cities, like KL, JB, Malacca, Bangkok, Chiangmai etc, there shouldnt be a problem, but if they happen not to have available stock, you can also place an order which should arrive within the week.
hope that helps!
