Quiet Hostel in Auckland

Hi guys 'n' gals !

Can anyone advise on a reasonably quiet hostel in Auckland? We are looking for something where all night parties are optional, but not too far away from the centre. Does somewhere like this even exist? It has to have a double or twin room option as I'm travelling with my partner.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I'd recommend the YHA Auckland City. It's not deadly quiet (has really good atmosphere in fact, for a large YHA) - but it's definitely not a party hostel. Location is pretty good, too - a mere five minutes walk from the busy part of Queen Street, with the airbus stopping in front of the hostel. It sits on top of the hill, so there's a steep climb up or down each time you're coming or going - but that's just for the one (short) street, and otherwise it's pretty much perfect; lots of twin and double rooms. Always my favorite place to stay in Auckland.

The Kiwi International is pretty good for as little or as much socialising as you feel like. The rooms range from dorms to doubles, so it suits your needs. It's at the K-Road end of Queen Street so you're in amongst the action. I have stayed in a single room here, and while the rooms are small and simple, they're all you need, theres a travel desk downstairs and a bar with a snack menu

Bamber House is another good one that I'd recommend. This is a quiet hostel, and is set in a really nice old colonial house. The downer is it's a little way away from the centre, but not so far as to be a huge problem.
