Hey All.

So.. Looks like I am flying into Santiago on Nov 7th for a few days before I head over to Mendoza for a quick 2 week holiday.

Can someone recommend a hostel for me in Santiago?

Somewhere that is location friendly and where we can meet a good group of fellow travellers.

Be well

Brian

hi,

I am actually stayng at a hostel in Santiago now. It is called Andes Hostel. I am trying to not sound like spam recommending this place but it is reaslly cool. they are not far from the airport and it cost me 8 usd to get here if you make a reservation with them compared to 20. nice crowd and plenty of options for day trips. contact me directly if you wish.

cheers,

Bill

Hey Brian,

I would definitely recommend La Chimba Hostel in the Bellavista district. you can find details of it on Hostelworld.com. The owner is really friendly, and it's more like staying at someone's house than at a hostel. It takes about 10 people only, so it's really cosy and friendly. Bellavista is a really lively part of the city with lots of great bars and restaurants.

If you are looking for a bigger hostel with more backpackers passing through try La Casa Roja in the Barrio Brazil - this is the student area of city, also very lively at night.

Or, if you fail to get into either of those, the HI on Cienfuegos is also a great spot with an outdoor bar area.

Hope that helps!
