If you ALWAYS wanted to know who is the creative designer for the all of these horrible colorful landmines, then don't search no more, as I found him here.
Mr Alessandro Manzini, is the head of Design Technology in Italy. Apparently he loves red butterfly!
I wonder what Margaret thinks about Mr Manzini's colorful design.
Sorry, I forgot to ask you, what do you think about his design work?
Do you like the red one or blue or other colors?

Hooch the noo, does it come in Royal Stewart Tartan?

Well, well, well... Look who has resurfaced after such a "tearful" good bye.

Now that we know how Margaret feels about Manzini's designs, and in the spirit of real discussion, how do you feel about it? We'd like to hear your opinions on the subject. Without them, there's really no reason for anyone to comment further.

I would have to agree with William Tecumseh Sherman's statement that 'The use of landmines is not war but murder'.
The vast majority of human beings try to give them the bodyswerve but there are always exceptions if the info? below which I found on wikipedia and other websites can be believed.

The Basij is a volunteer based Iranian paramilitary force founded by the order of Khomeini in November 1979.
During the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988, Basij volunteers (mainly children and youth) were sent to the Iraqi front with a plastic "key to Paradise" hanging around their necks.
The Basij martyred themselves by 'charging unarmed through Iraqi-laid minefields' to clear a way for Iranian tanks to advance.
Thousands are supposed to have died.

I was going to ask if wotthefiqh minded having a one-sided discussion because we know there won't be any comments other than additional links. But hey - did we expect anything more? (Rhetorical question.)

You can tell a lot about a society by who it holds up as the epitome of it's revolutionary ideals.

Nazi Revolution - Horst Wessel, member of the SA (Sturmabteilung) who was murdered at the age of 22. Commemorated by the Horst Wessel Song which became the Nazi Party anthem.

Bolshevik Revolution - Pavlik Morozov, Soviet hero-child who denounced his father to the secret police and was subsequently murdered by member of his own family in revenge. Commemorated by statues, poems, songs and an opera.

Iranian Revolution - Mohammed Hossein Fahmideh was a 13-year-old Basiji student and volunteer combatant who attained martyrdom by blowing himself up to destroy an Iraqi tank on the battlefront during the Iran-Iraq war. Commemorated by statues and murals as a hero.

American Revolution - Heath Ledger who dated Heather Graham, Naomi Watts and Michelle Williams. LEGEND.
