Budapest to Brasov - Overnight Train

Can anyone help me with information on the overnight train from Budapest to Brasov. My mother is planning a trip there 26th december, flights are booked and I just need to check her and her friend can get on the train with bed.

Has anyone done the trip, can you tell me how to book and any idea on price (return)

Train tickets for Hungary cannot be booked online, but for the reservation for the sleeper you can try the usual suspects like Deutsche Bahn UK office or other specialised agencies.

Normal train prices for Budapest-Brasov is around 62 EUR one-way according to jizdenka.cz, might be more due to being a sleeper train.

BTW, check whether the train is running on the date you want. I would use www.bahn.de for this, but due to the change of train schedules in the beginning of Dec things are a bit sketchy and will remain so until the first week of Dec.

Budapest-Brasov train ticket is 66EUR (a return 2nd class) and if you choose an overnight train you have to add sleeping cabin or couchette price (6persons couchette 15EUR, 2persons sleeping cabin 52EUR), prices on several train include breakfast as well.

Its verry easy. Train starting in Budapest in the morning and departure in Brasov in the evening.
