My friend and I are going to be landing in perth around 14th Feb and plan to have three months in oz before flying to new zealand from sydney mid may. What is the best route to do this and squeeze in the most. Ive found a few routes in travellers books but they are all based on a six month stay.

Any comments and guidance really welcome guys :)

Thanks

North - South
Could look at Perth > Broome > Darwin > Alice > Adelaide > Melbourne > Sydney

or
South - North
Perth > Albany > Kalgoorlie > Alice > Kakadu > Cairns > Brisbane > Sydney

Dont forget you can always fly to Melb/Syd/Bris for about $70 one way.

cheers

I would miss the Rock, you will see enough red dirt along the way anyway ;) will save you lots of time. Follow the coast line Perth down South then across the Nullarbor to Adelaide, Melbourne and via Sapphire Coast (absolutely gorgeous beaches along this way, often people drive straight up from Melbourne) to Sydney. If you have more time continue up north...
