Hi,

We land in Bangkok late afternoon on 25th Dec '08 and we're looking to kick off Xmas celebrations in style. :)

We should be hitting the streets at about 8pm and need some ideas/recommendations on where to eat a good meal/king's banquet/feast, followed by few drinks with bit of a party atmosphere. We have a hotel booked up near Khao San Rd (5 mins walk).

Should we head to one of the many river side restaurants? Are there any specific restaurants that we would need to book up? We're from the UK so I would imagine there must be some crazy UK ppl having a Xmas party somewhere in town...

Cheers in advance :)

depending on your budget and wether these 2 venues are allready booked out or not ... but you may want to consider Moon Bar @ Sultry Bayon Tree Hotel ... floor 61 i believe - arggghhmzing views of the city - or alternatively with equally amazing view try Sky Bar floor 63 State Tower ... i was thier myself this very evening, the views are just amazing, a meal wasnt on the agenda on my budget .. but if its xmas - what the hell! ... it'll certainly be an xmas meal to remember!!

nice atmosphere and good reliable service .. but if your not willing to spend a good few 100 bucks then ignore my suggestions.

Cheers Makka,

Moon Bar and Sky Bar... I'll do a search a check their sites & booking status - cheers! Seeing as it's a time to celebrate, I think we could push the boat out a bit I might even push the boat out to some of those snake alcohol shots too!

The Sky Bar was definitely on our list of things to do (recommended in Rough Guide book).

Ok people... keep 'em coming... meals, drinks and Xmas parties
