Hi all,

We have 4 nights to spend in Rio before our tour starts.

Should we travel to Buzios and stay there for a night (It sounds great but expensive!)
or will Rio keep us more than occupied for 4 days??
(In Rio we want to see the usual tourist sights & have 1 or 2 beach days too)

Any advice/ideas are welcome,

If you have only four days in Rio, stay there. Buzios is great, but 4 days in Rio would be great to:

- Corcovado (take the train upthere)
_ Pão de Açúcar
- Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (rent a bike and circle it)
- shop at Ipanema streets (have an ice cream at Mil Frutas, Rua Garcia Dávila)
- Ipanema beach with sunset at Arpoador. Don't miss the coconut water.
- Copacabana Beach (better for a stroll at "calçadão" then the beach itself). You could have breakfast at Confeitaria Colombo branch at Forte de Copacabana
- Stroll and lunch at Santa Tereza.
- you could take a walk at Jardim Botanico and then have lunch at Filé de Ouro (the best steak with rice and beans in town)
- spend an afternoon or an evening in a boteco, drinking chopp (draft beer) and eating petiscos (small portions of food). Suggestions: Bracarense, Conversa Fiada or Belmonte
- If you want more beach go to Barra da Tijuca, at Pepê Beach. don't miss the sandwiches at Pepê stand.
- If you feel adventoureous, you can do some handgliding at São Conrado. Amazing views!

See, plenty to do!

enjoy
