Egypt - tipping/cost of food/drinks etc

Hi - I am travelling next week to Egypt.

I am booked on to a two week tour, my accommodation, transport etc is included in the price I have already paid.

I would like to know how much money I will need for approx 2 weeks for food and tipping guides and some entrance fees??

I'm not planning on doing any shopping or anything so just look to do this as cheap as possible.

egpyt is pretty cheap esp if your accom is included in your tour price.....some examples of prices are.... e£5 for a beer in a shop, in a bar between 10 and 15e£, dinner can cost as low as 3-5e£ for koshary..which is a mish mash of pasta, rice dried veg and tomato sauce etc....sounds horrible but will keep you alive! ummm can of coke is 2e£ and glass bottle is 1 but you have to give the bottle back as they have deposits on them...if you have a prob with these prices and they tryto charge you ALOT more tell them that you live in sanai or something as a dive master....this normally gets you non tourist prices! when walking into a shop say hello sallam/sallam alle com....because frowns are passed around behind your back without this!!!

Thanks for this, I'm starting in Cairo - doin Giza from there then taking an overnight train to Aswan. Down to Abu Simbel then taking a falucca back up via Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor then to Dahab for the last 5 days before flying back out of Cairo.
