well, I think you'll need visa for Vietnam if you'll be there for more than 14 days...

where is Oz? I've heard that name so many times,...

For the countries you want to go to on a British passport:

Laos - visa on arrival for 30 days...remember to pay in dollars as the baht exchange they give you is bad! If you are going overland from Chiang Mai with a package, you will stop on the Thai side of the border and the travel agency you travel with will take your passport to get the visa for you. It was $30 I think.

Vietnam - you have to get a visa in advance and it lasts a month. You can get this in Vientiane I think - google Vietnam embassy in Laos.

Cambodia - visa on arrival for 30 days. Should be $20 and again, only pay in dollars and only pay the visa fee. Don't pay any 'helpers' or believe anyone who says the fee has gone up. Make sure you personally take your passport to the window and collect it yourself. All sorts of dodgy things go on at the Cambodian border crossings!

Malaysia - 90 days free on arrival, very hassle free and some of the friendliest Immigration people in the world!

Indonesia - 30 days on arrival for $25.

Hope this helps!

Thats fantastic, thank you very much.

I will be getting into thailand and leaving the country to come back 3 months later, so as Im leaving thailand from my first visit i wont have to get an extended one upon arrival again.

Don't worry about it. There's no such thing as a South East Asia visa that's similar to Europe's Schengen visa.
