getting from darwin to fiji

good evening all. when i do my trip away i need to get to fiji for my sisters wedding. il be leaving on 30th july 2009 from darwin and comming back around a week later.

any one with any good online companies. Iv been quoted 600 over the phone which I thought was a joke, apparantly it has to go via brisbane!

I'm not sure of any airlines that fly direct from Darwin to Fiji. Virgin Blue connect through Brisbane, but I just did a search on their website for the 30th July - 7th August from Darwin - Nadi and the flight came in around $470, cheaper than what you were quoted. Qantas seemed to be much more expensive than this, and when I did a search on their website they seemed to connect between another two cities before Nadi (i.e. Darwin - Sydney - Fiji), which makes it very pricey.
