Trip to Las Vegas for Cirque du Soleil

I went to Vegas recently to see Cirque du Soleils new show, Criss Angel Believe. I really enjoyed the artistic elements of the show like the dancers, costumes and illusions.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. The reviews were brutal. They said the Cirque part was OK, but the illusions were nothing special. Hopefully 'Believe' will be a success.

Many of the reviews that I read were from people who saw the show in the preview phase (before 10/31) so they saw the show as all the kinks were being worked out and while the show was still being improved and finalized. I went to the show on October 20th and everyone I spoke with while I was leaving said they liked the show. But yeah I enjoed the singer they had in the show also, she has a nice voice.

Nice catch Sander! And here I had just looked at the profile a few days ago intrigued that someone worked for Cirque. (Even mentioned to Beerman as I read it.) Should have checked it again when I saw this thread. Now, what to do about it....

Are there any Cirque shows in LA or do you commute?

I see your point on 'Walkin Tall not being an impartial observer, but hey, it is only a review. The market will decide if 'Believe' makes it or not. There are over 200 shows daily in Vegas, some are going to fail due to low attendence. All the Cirque shows before 'Believe' are successful. They have run for years and still put up good numbers daily. 'Ka' has offered half price tickets for locals. Just a sign of the times. With fewer visitors every month, it is getting difficult to sell-out even the best shows. This is why I get free shows almost every week. 'House Seats' has cut a deal with many of the hotels to fill the seats when shows are not going to sell-out. The hotels would rather have people in the seats even if they give them away. They know most people will have a drink, perhaps eat and maybe even try their luck at the slots or tables while in the hotel. If people are not in your hotel, you have no chance of revenue flow. This has been the Vegas philosophy for many years. Fill the rooms and the rest follows. If your rooms are full, guests will eat/drink/shop/gamble while in the hotel.

Right now, there are many great room rates being offered. TP members, this is a great time to visit Vegas!!

Thank you for sharing information. Its also named as Entertainment capital of the world and it famous for resorts.
what kind of shopping can we do in las vegas and the most entertainment in that city.

Can anyone share your feelings in it.

One that borders on being a promotional post because of the affiliation. But, as you see, the thread is still here so...

I thought KA was phenomanal :-)
HIGHLY recommended by me, the only downside is you cant buy a dvd of the show, which is annoying.
I was gonna film it on my digital camera slyly, would of got away with it as well, but thought better of it as it's only right to buy the dvd, wish i'd known there wasnt one and i would have filmed ;-)

I do work with Cirque and they actually sent a few of us out to Vegas to see the show. I was just giving my opinion on the show and what I liked about it. Thanks for all the responses on the show though. Deadmanmoz, I havent seen Ka before (I have not seen all Cirque shows) but I always hear great things about it I've watched some of it on YouTube before and it does look good.
