UK in third week of May 2009

We are planning a holiday in May 2009, after spending some time in Turkey we will be in London, hopefully by third week of May 2009. I need advice on the following points:

1. We will have 7 days in UK, can anyone recommend what all places to see apart from London and how many days will be just enough for London so that we can have some spare time to visit other interesting towns in UK. What is the average daily budget per person that we can expect?

2. What will be the weather like in third week of May 2009, i believe it will be sufficiently warm as our son will be just 1 year and 1 month by then

London - 3 days-ish for the main sites.

Peak District - 1 day

Liverpool - 1 day

Edinburgh - 2 days

Budget - depends where you stay, but excluding accomodation £20pppd roughly.

The weather is s*** and always in this country, the summer this year last about 3 days.

If you go up to Scotland, maybe just spend one day in Edinburgh.... that will definitely be enough to see the sights. Then you could maybe go across to Glasgow (1hour train journey) also a really nice city, about 30mins north-west of Glasgow is Loch Lomond and a lot of really nice scenery!

You can get cheap flights from london to glasgow or edinburgh using Ryanair - check them out online!

I agree that it is necessary to visit Scotland and Edinburgh. The nature is marvelous there though the weather changes fast. You can find Eninburgh accomodation snip

There is a minor correction in my query, i will have 10 days in all, so after deducting 3 days in london, i will be left with a week more.

I understand that Scotland is indeed beautiful and i cant afford to miss it, can anyone throw more light on the Lake District, like how far it would be from Glasgow, what is the means of transport and will a couple of days be enough to get a feel of the district, etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
