Hey all, Im going to europe for 3 months starting mid december, and have some questions. How light should i pack (im going all throughout eastern and western), Should i bring my laptop? is it worth it? Is the eurorail pass a good deal, 1300 bucks for 3 months on the global pass. Any other tips, anything at all, would be much appreciated. :)

Hiya DanS..
Would recommend you pack very lightly - you only need enough clothes etc for max. 10 days because you'll get to wash them and there's no point in carting a load of stuff around with you.. Would recommend against taking your laptop as most hostels have internet which is often free or else you'll find an internet cafe in almost every town/village. I travelled around Eastern Europe only for 6 weeks last summer and we didn't bother with train passes as trains there are quite cheap. Was also in Italy a few weeks ago and trains there are very cheap aswell. 1300 bucks (Euro, Dollar, Pound!!?) doesn't seem overly expensive though for 3 months so could well be worthwhile buying one - you'll also be more willing to travel more if you have the pass to get your value's worth.
Hope you 've a great trip :)

anything at all??

... id bring my own sheet (or one of those small cotton-cloth sleeping bags). in some hostels i just sleep better when i have my own.. dont ask why, but there are reasons
you can still use it as a curtain in the hostel.. you then can pretend youre all alone for a few minutes. i need it sometimes.

i started to do that when i was travelling in china... so please dont think im crazy.
