I was wondering if anyone has a better (cheaper) option to travel from Bogota, Colombia to Buenos Aires, Argentina. So far i've only found flights with LAN and Aerolineas, but they cost a fortune.

Are there any other options? I don't necessarily have to fly, but seeing that I am already taking a bus from Buenos Aires to Bogota, I was hoping for another option.

Thanks in advance.

Go to the travel Agency Aviatur! They are the primary agent in Colombia and can find you the cheapest flight. They are also extremely helpful, professional and even have unbelievable coffee (free)! I worked with them on several other flights to Ec. and Ven. I think they can help you. Go to the main office in Central Bogota on 19 ave. (ask any one.) try the different offices they have a section for student and other fares that might be the cheapest.
I hope this works out for you!

pura vida,

p.s. i would love to hear more about your bus trip to Bog from Arg. (pm me?)

What are you saying! Aviatur is one of the most expensive agencies in the country!! I found better rates calling directly to TACa which also have a wonderful service, punctual flights and excellent airplanes. I live in South America and I travel at least once a year on the route Bogota - Buenos Aires as I have family in both cities and I always found the best rates and services with the peruvian Taca. Another agency I liked in Bogota is Trotamundos, specialized in students and backpackers, they have good fares as well and special prices if you are less than them on the web, they are located only in Bogota and Medellin I guess.

I've never tried Aviatur....

I often go to the airport and inquire about tickets from the kiosk there. Sometimes the flights are really substantially cheaper...Though I've only done this once in Bogota and mostly from Cartagena.
