I have idea to make some travelling agent for backpacker who want visit Indonesia. Me and my friends can prepare for accomodation for looking around Indonesia. Including tour guide also and looking for hostel for it. Don't worry, we will give you the best price....we can give some options about price until the cheapest price that you can't find in other travelling agent. But how to build it and advertise it ? We have some idea expecially for make a blog, so people can get information about us. Can you help us ? I'll appreciate ideas that you give for us.

First learn to write English better or no one is going to take you seriously. Honestly I don't see how you would make any money when backpackers evovle around being cheap!

Hello ice,
Thanks for your last post. Hehehe, you don't need to use "perfect" English when you need to show someone around. As long they know what you mean, it's ok...right....? (I don't think your English perfect too...why I still don't understand what you mean ? Are there any wrong spelling ?) hehehee....gotcha....

The point is not about what we offer or we said but......about what they get ....

(Remember, smart backpacker know about this, hahahaa !!!! Sorry...)

While I agree that having better English would be helpful, I C E, I find it hilarious that you would be the one to take that shot. Bygones.

It seems like the fella is just trying to sell himself a little. And, truly, have you seen some of the folks out here saying that they give tours in English...Tonto and Tarzan would be rolling on their backs laughing.

Dera Piecar,

Yes, I C E have good idea for learn english better but I think I don't need "to write english better" isn't it ? Check carefully his words. For taking people show me about Indonesia, I really don't need for "write english better". I hope you are not using any glassess in front of your eyes for checking his statement

Imagine that you are wanna go to jungle. Maybe if Tarzan helping you to go out side , you'll glad to meet him, right ? It's about backpacker world. Not like rich tourist world that you will guided with an "excellent english man". Although Tarzan can't speak well but if he will give you any direction and many experiences / adventures, i hope you have behaviour to say thanks for him....hehehhee.....

I know my english not really good but i know u understand what i'm talking about right ? I'm not working alone. Don't worry about my bad english, my friends better than me ....

Well now this is an interesting post.

I'll leave the English comments out. Personally I think many people make spelling mistakes online. Myself included. However when it comes to selling online, or running a business people do pick up on spelling, and sometimes more importantly, grammar mistakes.

To answer the original post. If you are targeting backpackers i c e does make a good point. Your profit margins will be very low. Unless you are offering some off the beaten path tours that backpackers will like. Hooking them up in local accommodation and going that route. Simply taking them to a popular hostel and claiming a small commission from both sides won't do.

Personally when I arrive in Indonesia I will want a fixer to take me to the places others don't get to see. And I will know full well ahead of time the rough cost of accommodation. I will want someone to keep people at bay when I take photo's and or video. I will want to see the real Indonesia not down town tourist traps and souvenir stalls. Picking a local chap up to help with this works. If you targeted backpackers with off the beaten path routes and advertised you prices on a proper website, with quality photos, information, prices, and yes good english. Then maybe be you can hit a niche market.

Going to forums and advertising a business or asking for advise and coming out with bold or italic text or tons of happy faces does not instill trust. Nor does taking a knock at other posters. You reputation starts at the start and will follow you everywhere.

Outcast has some good points and I fully agree. To add on to what he mentioned, for a country like Indonesia that overcharges tourists atrociously for everything, I think the service that backpackers will appreciate is for you as a local to book things for them so that they can save a hell lotta money. I just got back from Bali last week and I saved a bomb cos I had an Indonesian friend travelling with me. We were staying at places like the Ritz and Novotel resort (where we had a villa with a private pool) and it cost us only 150euros for accomodation for the entire trip. Go online and check how much the published webrates are for the Ritz per night and I bet it's more than that.

Hello Outcast,

Thanks for your comment. I get the point. Yes, people can do mistakes online. Expecially for me that I'm not know english as mother language and in Indonesia we don't use english as our basic language. We should not blaming anyone because of this as long they know what I'm talking about. I just want to know other opinions before I starting something. Just like that. ;)

I'm not working alone (I just try to start our desire, so i think write here is best choice). Money, commissioning, etc...not main point for us. Take a tour with true backpacker and travelling places that we can share or have fun together is the important thing of course. Thanks a lot for your attention and advice for my post. It will be usefull for my next step.

Dear Sapphyre,

Yes, I agree with Outcast too. Thanks for sharing your journey's story about Bali. I'm glad you save while you are here. Although the government have punished bomber (with died punishment), Bali not quiet save for foreign. You did best step travelling with Indonesia friend who know about Indonesia well (hotel, handicraft, until food prices). Also thanks for your comment,it increase my knowledge too.
