Hi,

We are from Bangalore, India

Planning to visit Vancouver for 3 weeks starting 21st. April . Need decent double accommodation preferably close to downtown area. Can accept B&B in a family run place or a small semi furnished apartment

Also will like to travel out for a week to a place of scenic beauty and just chill for a week. Walk around , see nature at it's best , eat at small eating places. Any suggestion for the place ?

Will appreciate your suggestions and help.

Regards

Ranjan Kar

There's one downtown Vancouver B&B in the accommodation booking section here at travellerspoint. Has received really good ratings, too.

Unfortunately it looks like April is still too far away for it to have any rooms up for booking (*does some test searches* - yes, they've filled in availability information until the end of March) - but I suspect that if you return to that page in a month, you will be able to book it.

Downtown Vancouver heaves with the kind of eating places you're after-so many varieties/ethnicities-it's a whirlwind of choice-outside the city choice is much more limited.

http://www.shaughnessyvillage.com/ is in a tony neighbourhood a 5 minute bus ride from downtown, nearby West Broadway (9th ave) offers even more choice in terms of dining options.

For a getaway sounds like Vancouver Island is a good choice but it's another world of optio0ns-some expensive some not.

Will you have a car?

Outside of the city it can be a challenge to get around without one.

In that regards this book http://www.car-free.ca/ is a great help.
