Currently you will need a visa for Bolivia (because of the little tiff between the US and Bolivia a few months back) as well as Chile. Both of which you can obtain on arrival and will set you back each $120...

...Ah the joys of being an American....

Actually, the Chile thing is just the money. They are very clear that they require no visas for most countries, but four countries need to pay a fee, because they do the same thing in those four countries...the price for the US is $131. Payable, they demand, in American dollars or by credit card I handed them the money in really crisp new bills, but they refused my hundred because of a minute nick in a corner. I believe that just want to process your credit card info.

Argentina implements the same kind of fee(ie a fee for being from one of ¨those¨ countries) on January 1st.

I have been told, but am not sure, that the Chile ¨Fee¨is only requested at the Santiago airport.....Argentina will demand it from any ingress.

Man being an American stinks sometimes. (well most times).
Thanks for the answers. How come everything is so much more expensive than you plan for and hope for!?!?!?!?.

IF ANYONE ELSE COULD CONFIRM WHICH COUNTRIES COST HOW MUCH THAT WOULD REALLY HELP MY FIGURE MY DOOM
BEFORE I GET THERE!!!!

Pura Vida everyone,
