The Balkan underground railroad is your best bet. Not many non natives know this route and it has reached an almost mythical like status among travelers. This is the breath of authenticity. Seek the place where arches cross and look below to see the carving of Durga shadowed by weeping willows. Here is where you will find your answer.

everything is rly close, so i suggest taking a bus, you can go and search for macedonian bus station web page and check out some info there.

I suggest that you spend more time in Macedonia and Ohrid, Skopje, and mountains there.. cause the sight is very beautiful.

the time between each is aproximately 10 hours top:)

tell me the time and everything and i'll try to find the cost of it:)

I traveled Skopje to Ohrid by bus, I think it was only several hours or so, maybe 3-5 or so.
Ohrid to the border with Albania by bus and then crossing on foot.
In Pogradec on the Albanian side (southern side of Lake Ohrid by the way) I took a shared minivan to Tirana, across fantastic mountain scenery. Ohrid to Tirana might take over half a day or so, including a stop for lunch.
This was in 2003 though, maybe direct or faster routes are available right now.
Have fun!

Hello,

Skopje - Ohrid is 171 km
Ohrid via Struga - Kjafasan border with Albania is 41 km
From Kjafasan you might consider taking some bus to Albanian capital Tirana or maybe if railway exsist, cause in Macedonia there is no railway in this area.

Maybe you should think of getting onto a bus for Struga directly from Skopje...

Hope this helped
