Im planning on going to South America next year. I want to visit Argentina, Boliva, Peru and Brazil definatley, and maybe some other countries as well. What is the best way to travel...flying between the countries or via bus. Are there any companies that specialise in it?

If you want to interact with the people and have loads more fun and save loads more money. i love the buses espcially in Latina America! Some of my best travelling memories are on buses! But also remember you may be delayed on the buses, in these countries there ae countless reasons they will close a road or delay your trip.Plus mud slides and an occasional earth quake.!f

I say that it's all the fun of it. but if you have time restaints and limitless money, fly! LOL.

when they are fairly close on the map, I would take a bus. But consider that Brzil is about ths size of the continental US, that is a long bus trip...Look on your map. It takes 21 hours to take a bus from Santiago to Buenos Aires. And that doesn't look like a long way on the map....Judge accordingly. I would say that youhave to do a mixture in order to make your trip work and not shoot yourself in theface because of the mind numbing boredom of sitting on a bus.

Latin America does have some interesting bus life. But still.

Hi, I´m from Argentina. I recommend to fly cause distances here are too far, Piecar is right a bus trip Bs.As. to Santiago take more than 21 hours, actually it takes about 30. But always depends on traffic, weather conditions, strikes in the middle of the route, cows, and so on. Don´t forget that this is South America, everything it´s possible!!!
If you have some money to spend is convinient to fly when you go to another country, specially Bs. As. to Perú, Brasil, Bolivia and Chile. Uruguay is just 3 hours from BA, so you can take the ship.
You also have trains, in Argentina are safer than buses.
