Hello everyone!
It so happens that coming spring next year, my partner and I are going to New Zealand to study for a few months. We are leaving from UK in mid February 2009 and we’re looking to arrive to Auckland by the beggining of March. The idea is to stay in NZ till December and then travel around South East Asia for three months more or less. We do not have much experience travelling so we welcome all help we can get. To start I have a few questions:
1) How do we do the trip? We’ve been looking at different travelling options, from single plane ticket to NZ to RTW and Circle Pacific tickets. What, in your oppinion, is the best option: to do it ourself from NZ or to get a hop on hop off plane ticket?
2) Where to go? We were thinking of stopping off in Tahiti ot Fiji on the way in. Then Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam y Cambodia on the way back, giving us around 3 months for the trip in South East Asia. Suggestions here?
3) What to bring with us? I’m most concerned with not carrying too much stuff on my back pack. But as the plan goes, we’ll need things like laptops to study in NZ. Shall we take them with us around Asia? If not, does anyone know how to send them back to Europe cheap and safely?
Ok, enough for today. I really do appreciate any advice you can provide us, with these or any other questions we haven’t probably thought of.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
Regards
Tete
